Mararison or also known as Malalison for travelers, is a small island beach destination and a barangay in Culasi, Antique. The beauty of the island was only seen by the media after the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan in the province. Mararison is just behind the world's most popular beach destination, Boracay.
? Snorkeling of the island waters is fun and unsupervised. If you don’t have your own gear, you can rent a mask and snorkel all day for a fee from the locals.
? The trekking however, is supervised. for a guide is required. For a small fee, your group is lead by a resident up the hillside, through a field of carnivorous pitcher plants, to the top of the mountain where the radio tower is tethered, offering 360 degree panoramic views of the island.
? This is the perfect place to catch the sunset, perfect for those Instagram moments as well.
From Iloilo City:
? Head over to Molo Bus and Van Terminal and ride a bus or van going to Culasi, Antique (P200.00) 2-3 hours travel time.
From Kalibo or Caticlan:
? Ride a bus or van going to Culasi, Antique (P150.00) 1-2 hours travel time.
? Once you get to Culasi, head over to the port and proceed to the tourism office where a boatman will be assigned to you going to the island. 15 minutes travel time.
